Lady Hires Assassins To Kill Estranged Lover

A 32-year old lady, Miss Ngozi Okwuside, has landed in trouble in Lagos after she reportedly hired thugs suspected to be assassins to eliminate one Emmanuel Eze, believed to be her estranged lover.

P.M.EXPRESS reports that the incident happened at both Onilewura and Oyedele streets off Liasu Road in Ikotun area of Lagos where the victim resided.

It was gathered that Eze had known Ngozi for some time and along the line the relationship broke down over purported betrayed by Eze. Out of anger, she was said to have hired some thugs who trailed Eze on a motorbike and threatened to kill him unless he reconciled with Ngozi.

P.M.EXPRESS was unable to establish if the betrayal had to do with marriage proposal or a business deal but police source said that the whole thing bothered on betrayal.

The suspected thugs sent by Ngozi were said to have continued to trail Eze both at his office and house in order to attack him but he managed to escape. Since then, Eze was said to have gone into hiding and had been in constant fear over the threat.

Eventually he went to the police at Ikotun Division and reported the threat and his frustration about the situation. Ngozi was arrested, detained at the police station and was then asked to produce the suspected assassins she had sent after Eze but she declined to do so.

The police found her culpable and charged her before Ejigbo Magistrates court for threatening Eze’s life by hiring thugs to attack him.
She pleaded guilty.
The prosecutor, Inspector G. Simon, did not oppose her being granted bail.
Thus, the Presiding Magistrate, Mr. L.K.J. Layeni, granted her bail in the sum of N50,000 with two sureties in like sum.
She was remanded in prison custody pending when she will perfect her bail.
The matter was adjourned till 8th August, 2018.
