A 31-year old lady, one Christabel Olotu, got enmeshed in a serious scandal in Lagos after she allegedly tricked and obtained N500,000 from a 12-year old boy claiming the money was for watching her TV during the day.

P.M.EXPRESS reports that the incident happened at Awawu Street in Abaranje area of Ikotun, Lagos.

The residents who heard about the incident wondered the type of TV the boy, Chinasa Akoh, had been watching in her house which attracted such an amount.
The owner of the money, one Moses Dikeoha, had lost the money and traced it to the 12-year old boy who was his house boy. It was then that the boy, Akoh, told him that he stole the money and took it to Christabel as she had demanded.

The matter was reported to the police; the lady was arrested and taken to the police station for interrogation.
P.M.EXPRESS scooped that the lady admitted that she collected some money from the boy and it was for the TV he had watched in her house as she usually put on her generator during the day.
However, after investigation the police found her culpable and charged her before the Ejigbo Magistrates Court for obtaining under false pretence from the 12-year old.
She denied and pleaded not guilty.

The prosecutor, Inspector G. Simon, did not oppose her being granted bail but asked the court for a new date for hearing so that the police will prove the case.

She was remanded in prison custody pending when she will perfect her bail condition.
