The Lagos State Office of Education Quality Assurance (OEQA) in the Ministry of Education has commenced the mandatory registration, data update and validation exercise for all approved, registered and unregistered Nursery, Primary, Secondary and Sixth Form schools operating in Lagos State.

A statement signed by the Director-General of OEQA, Mrs. Abiola Seriki-Ayeni, stated that the school registration and validation exercise for year 2022 is essential to ascertain schools still in operation across the State.

According to her, the Office of Education Quality Assurance (OEQA) is responsible for the standardisation, monitoring and regulation of all schools (Private and Public) below the tertiary level in Lagos, including the establishment and management of the database of all private schools in the State.

She disclosed that the online registration exercise had commenced on Friday, 15th July, 2022 and will end on Friday, 12th August, 2022, urging schools administrators to complete the form, update their data, upload a copy of their National identity cards and supply other basic information of current school managers and administrators.

Her words: “All schools below the tertiary level are required to visit the website of the Office of Education Quality of Assurance (www.oeqalagos.com) to access the form and download guidelines. The form can also be accessed by clicking the applicable link for approved schools: https://oeqalagos.com/approved-schools-data-update-form/ and registered and unregistered schools: https://oeqalagos.com/registered-unregistered-schools-data-update-form/”.

While emphasising that all relevant documents must be uploaded on the platform, Seriki-Ayeni clarified that schools with multi-campuses must register each individually.
The Director-General further stated that the exercise is for all approved Private Secondary Schools, Nursery & Primary Schools; Registered Nursery and Primary as well as Secondary Schools, and Unregistered Secondary, Nursery and Primary Schools.

While pledging support for registered and unregistered schools to ensure they attain the approved status, she implored all schools to participate in the registration and validation exercise for the year.

She advised all proprietors and relevant stakeholders to visit: www.oeqalagos.com or e-mail: support@oeqalagos.com for more inquiries.
