Lagos State Govt Seeks Support Of Social Clubs For Development
Posted on October 15, 2019

The Executive Governor of Lagos State, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has enlisted the support and collaboration of notable social clubs for rapid development of the State, noting that the present administration would continue to recognise, partner and appreciate such clubs for their cooperation on government policies and programmes.
The Governor said the policy thrusts of his administration are focused on transforming the entire landscape of Lagos, create opportunities for entrepreneurial development in all sectors and provide a conducive environment for a decent living, leisure and business.
Represented by the Special Adviser on Civic Engagement, Princess Adebowale Aderemi, the Governor spoke at the Association of Friends (ASSO) installation of the First Patron of the Club and commissioning of the Ultra-modern Kensington Adebutu Sports Centre in honour of the foremost philanthropist and entrepreneur, High Chief (Dr.) Kensington Adebutu.
According to him, the vision of the State government to make Lagos a 21st-century economy and Africa’s most preferred destination for investment, tourism and entertainment requires the support of everyone for its full realisation.
He averred that the contribution of social clubs to the promotion of harmonious co-existence among people of diverse backgrounds cannot be overemphasised, observing that the social clubs provide good platforms for the promotion and support of good causes which have continued to benefit the people, especially the less-privileged members of the society.
The Governor, however, solicited for the continued support of the Association of Friends (ASSO) and all other social organisations who are committed to ensuring the rapid development and progress of the State.
