Lagos Task Force Driver Sent To Prison Over Assault

A driver attached to the Lagos State Task Force on Environmental Sanitation and Other Offences Unit, Mr. Ajayi Taiwo, was on 24th October, 2019, remanded in prison custody by the Court for allegedly assaulting one Abiola Adeboye.
The driver, Mr. Ajayi Taiwo, was said to have driven against traffic around Moshalashi Alhaja area of Agege, when the victim, Mr. Abiola Adeboye challenged him. Upon asking him why he drove against traffic, the Task Force driver attacked Mr. Adeboye and inflicted injuries on him.
P.M.EXPRESS correspondent gathered that during the attack, the victim, Mr. Abiola Adeboye, lost the sum of N150,000.00, wedding ring and necklace.
The 44-year old Ogun State indigene was later charged with 3-counts charge bordering on assault, stealing and malicious damage.
Count 1 reads that you, Mr. Ajayi Taiwo ‘M’ on the 22nd of October, 2019, at about 0830 hrs, at Moshalashi Alhaja Agege, in Lagos Magisterial District, did unlawfully assault one Abiola Adeboye ‘m’ by beating him and causing bodily damage and thereby committed an offence punishable under section 173 of the criminal law of Lagos State 2015.
Mr. Ajayi Taiwo pleaded not guilty to all the three counts charges and was granted bail in the sum of N100,000.00 with 2 sureties in like sum, who must show evidence of tax payment. He was however remanded in prison custody pending when he will fulfil the bail conditions.
