Man, 35, Arrested For Forcefully Engaging Lady, 20, In Sex

A 35-year old man, Adebayo Oluwatoyin, has landed in trouble after he reportedly lured and forcefully engaged a 20-year old lady in sex in Ilese area of Ikorodu, Lagos.

P.M.EXPRESS gathered that the lady reported the incident to the Police stating that she was lured and forcefully penetrated by the suspect, Oluwatoyin, without her consent.

Police source said that Oluwatoyin tricked the victim, lured her into his apartment and had forceful penetration with threat and she allowed him over safety of her life.
However, after the dastardly act, the lady went to the Police in the area and reported that she was raped by Oluwatoyin. The Police then arrested him and transferred the matter to the Gender Section of the Police Command for interrogation.
During interrogation, Oluwatoyin admitted that he slept with the victim but with her consent while the victim insisted that she was raped.
The Police found him culpable during investigation and subsequently charged him before the Ogba Magistrates Court for the alleged offence.
The Court did not take his plea after the prosecutor, Supol Benson Emerhi, asked the Court to refer the matter to the DPP for advice since it was a case of rape.
The Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. O. Sule-Amzat, ordered the defendant to be remanded in prison custody without an option of bail.
The Court also directed the prosecutor to duplicate the file and send to the DPP for advice while the defendant will remain in prison custody pending when the DPP’s advice will be ready. The matter was adjourned till 6th April, 2020.

P.M.EXPRESS gathered that the defendant may be transferred to the High Court if the DPP finds him culpable and recommends that he should be tried for the alleged offence before the Court in Lagos.
