A 52-year old man, Ebenezer Ajose, has landed in trouble in Lagos State for allegedly luring his neighbour’s 6-year old daughter and inserting his finger into her private part as the victim exposed him.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the suspect,  Ajose, has been arrested and charged for sexual assault by finger penetration under the Criminal Laws of the State over his alleged conduct.
The incident happened on 11th May, 2025, at Bale Mowo Badagry area of Lagos, where they reside.
According to the Police, the suspect targeted the victim when her parents were not around, lured her into his apartment, then removed her pants and inserted his finger into her private part. Having satisfied himself,  he allowed her to go and warned her not to tell anyone about it. However, the victim informed her parents about what happened when they were not around; how the suspect lured her into his apartment and molested her.
The matter was reported to the Police in the area and the suspect was arrested. He was later transferred to the Gender Section of the Command for further investigation.
After rounds of interrogation at the Gender Section, the Police found him culpable and consequently charged him before the Ogba Magistrate Court for the alleged offence, which attracts several years of imprisonment.
The charge read:
“That you, Ebenezer Ajose ‘m’, on the 11th day of May, 2025, at Bale Mowo Badagry area of Lagos, in the Lagos Magisterial District, did sexually assault one girl ‘f 6years old, by putting your finger into her vagina and thereby committed an offence punishable under Section 261 of the Criminal aw of Lagos State of Nigeria, 2015.”
However, the Court did not take his plea after the prosecutor, Inspector Lucky Ihiehie, asked the Court to refer the matter to the DPP for legal advice because of the seriousness of the alleged offence.
The Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. M.O.Tanimola, ordered his remand in custody at the correctional center at Kirikiri town, Lagos, pending the outcome of the DPP’s advice and directed the prosecutor to duplicate the file and send it to the DPP for legal advice.
The matter was adjourned for mention for the report of the DPP’s advice to be available, which will determine if the matter will be transferred to the High Court or not over jurisdiction.
