A 54-year old man, Natto Robert, has displayed his boxing prowess in Lagos State on a woman, Oluchi Okoroafor, by battering her with fists blows and knocking her down in the process during a public fight.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the incident happened at Okeji Street, Shogunle area of Lagos, where they reside.
The cause of the fight was not disclosed by the Police, who alleged the suspect, Robert, to have rained the victim, Oluchi, with fist blows and injured her left eye causing her bodily harm in the process.
However, according to their neighbours, the duo had been having constant quarrels, which they cannot trace the cause as they had tried to resolve it but it did not work out.
On the day the incident happened, they were said to have engaged themselves in exchange of words, which eventually led to physically exchange of blows; Robert knocked her hard and she fell down injured.
The alleged assault was reported to the Police at Shogunle Division and Robert was arrested. After interrogation and having been found culpable, he was charged before the Ogba Magistrate Court for assault.
When he was arraigned, he pleaded not guilty.
The prosecutor, Supol Akeem Raji, then asked the Court to give a date for hearing since he pleaded not guilty to enable the Police to prove that he actually committed the alleged offence.
The Presiding Magistrate,  Mrs B. O. Osunssanmi, granted him bail and ordered his remand in the Correctional Centre at Kirikiri town, Lagos, pending when he will perfect his bail conditions while the matter was adjourned till 24th August, 2022, for mention.
