A 74-year old man, Simeon Adeyemo, has been arrested for taking advantage of his old age to mislead the Lagos State Commissioner of Police.

P.M.EXPRESS reports that the old man reportedly went to the CP with a petition dated 14th March, 2018, to the former CP, Mr. Imohimi Edgal. In the petition Adeyemo alleged that one police officer, Inspector Lasis Taoide, attached to Area G Command in Ogba openly threatened to send assassins to kill him. The CP promptly ordered for investigation on the alleged threat believing that such an old man will not tell lies.
The officer, Inspector Taoide, was then summoned by the Command for interrogation and Adeyemo was asked to provide evidence but there was none to prove his claims.
During investigation, it was discovered that the old man lied and wrongly deceived the CP to discharge his lawful duty. Thus, he was promptly arrested and charged before Ogba Magistrate Court for false information.
He pleaded not guilty.
The prosecutor, Inspector Raji, did not oppose his being granted bail.
Thus, the Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. O.A. Layinka, granted him bail in the sum of N100,000 with one surety in like sum.
However, Pa Adeyemo was remanded in prison pending when he will perfect the bail condition.
