A week into the lavish wedding of Carrissa Sharon, first daughter of the founder and Senior Pastor of Christ Embassy, Chris Oyakhilome, the death of a man in need of healing has cast a dark pall on the celebration. P.M.EXPRESS gathered that the police at the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department, SCIID, have commenced investigation to unravel the death of a 35-year old man, Olatunji Odusan, who was alleged to have been beaten to death at the Church’s Healing School in Lagos.

Late Odusan reportedly died after he was tortured within the premises of the Healing School in Oregun area of Ikeja, Lagos.

The cause of Odusan’s death has not been ascertained as the autopsy report not yet ready.

It was also not certain what the mission of the late Odusan was before going to the Healing School where he met his death. But it was gathered that the deceased might have gone to the Healing Centre for undisclosed deliverance.

However, the Police claimed that the deceased was beaten severely; he vomited, became unconscious and was rushed to an undisclosed hospital where he eventually died. The corpse was deposited at the mortuary for autopsy report.

P.M.EXPRESS confirmed that two suspects, one Innocent Samuel and Sunday Momoh have been arrested and detained at the SCIID for interrogation. They were said to have jointly beaten the deceased before he was rushed to the hospital.

The suspects have been charged before the Ebute Metta Magistrates Court for murder and were remanded in prison custody. When they were arraigned, the prosecutor identified as Inspector Adams, informed the court that it was a case of homicide as such it required the DPP advice.

Thus the Presiding Magistrate, Mr A.O. Komolafe, did not take their plea and denied them bail.

The court ordered the prosecutor to duplicate the file and send to DPP for advice. It was gathered that if the DPP finds them culpable, the matter will be transferred to High Court where they will face murder charge.

The defendants may spend the rest of their lives in prison custody if they are tried and convicted for murder. Meanwhile the corpse of the late Odusan was still at the mortuary pending when the police will conclude their investigations.
