Man Kills Wife, Son, Commits Suicide

Police operatives from the Homicide Department of SCIID, Yaba, Lagos, have commenced investigation into the circumstances that led to the dastardly act by a man who reportedly killed his wife and son before hanging himself in Lagos.

P.M.EXPRESS reports that the incident happened in Ikorodu area of Lagos where the victims reside and the act was committed over an undisclosed reason.

Indeed the residents of Aga, a Lagos suburb in Ikorodu area of the state, are yet to recover from the rude shock of the death of one of their neighbours who allegedly killed his wife and son before he reportedly hanged himself.

The deceased, identified as Enifeh Akupa Omomo, 42, was said to have committed the dastardly act in his one-room apartment located at 12, Eruga Street, Aga Ikorodu, Lagos, where they reside.
The late wife and son were identified as Mrs. Faith Omomo, 38, and Glorious Omomo, 6, respectively.

P.M.EXPRESS gathered that their corpses were discovered by neighbours on 24th May, 2019, at about 8am, who immediately reported the incident to Ikorodu Police Station.

The root cause of the multiple killing could not be ascertained as no suicide note was found in the room and the police have not concluded the investigations.
The Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Bala Elkana, who confirmed the incident, said that police detectives from the Homicide Section have visited the scene.
On arrival at the scene, Elkana said that the corpse of the suspect was found hanging on a rope tied to the ceiling fan, while that of his wife and son were found on the floor.
He disclosed that the bodies of the deceased persons have been evacuated to the General Hospital for autopsy while investigations into the matter have commenced.
