A 25-year old man, Mr. Chibueze Okoye, has been arrested for conducting himself in a crude manner by forcing his joystick into a 6-year old girl’s private part while carrying her on his legs.

P.M.EXPRESS reports that the incident happened at Oduyemi Street in Ajangbadi area of Lagos where they reside.

The suspect, Mr. Chibueze Okoye reportedly returned from work and lured the victim to his room. He carried her on his legs and pretended to be taking care of her. In the process, he was said to have unzipped his trouser, brought out his joystick and equally removed the 6-year old victim’s pant before penetrating her. While on the act, he forcefully inserted his joystick and injured her in the process.
The victim narrated what happened to her parents and the matter was reported to the Police who transferred the case to the Gender Section of the Command in Ikeja, Lagos.
Mr. Okoye was arrested and detained for interrogation. He was found culpable during the investigation and charged before Ogba Magistrates court for defilement.
The prosecutor, Mr. Christopher John, informed the court that the victim was a minor and she was injured as a result of the assault.
The Presiding Magistrate, Mr. Peter Nwaka, did not take his plea but ordered him to be remanded in prison custody.
The court also directed the prosecutor to duplicate and send the file to DPP for advice.
P.M.EXPRESS gathered that the offence was a case of felony as such the matter might be transferred to the High Court which has jurisdiction to trial such matters.
However, it will depend on the outcome of the DPP advice; if Okoye was found culpable, tried and found guilty, he will spend up to 10 years in prison for the offence he allegedly committed.
