Man Stabs Another Man To Death Over Indomie Noodles

The residents of Liasu Road, Idimu area of Lagos are now apprehensive over the death of a young man, simply identified as Chidorue, who was murdered by a roadside food seller over Indomie noodles.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the incident happened on Tuesday along Liasu Road in Idimu Lagos ,where the suspect, identified as Umaru, sells tea, egg and Indomie noodles.
According to the residents, Chidorue went to the mallam, kown in area as Umaru, and asked him to prepare Indomie noodles for him which Umaru did. However, there was disagreement over payment which resulted in Chidorue using a stick to hit Umaru, who then brought out a knife and stabbed him.
Chidorue was said to have bled profusely and was rushed to the hospital where he eventually died.
The corpse was retrieved from the hospital and deposited at an undisclosed mortuary while Umaru was said to have escaped to an unknown place.

The death of Chidorue sparked a violent protest and some aggrieved youths used the opportunity to destroy properties targeting some ethnic groups in the area.
However, the Police from Ikotun Division moved into action and brought the situation under control.
The tension generated by the death and the violent protest has left the residents in fear and panic because there might be reprisal attacks from those whose properties were destroyed.
However, Police patrol vehicles were seen stationed in the area while operatives were on ground to forestall any ugly situation that might arise over the incident.
Meanwhile, the Police have not been able to arrest Umaru as some residents said he may have parked all his belongings and relocated out of Lagos after he had stabbed the late Chidorue.
Some said he may have relocated to the Northern part of Nigeria and it may be difficult to trace him as none of his brothers wanted to give any information about him or his where about.
