The Apex Igbo organization, Ohanaeze Ndigbo, Lagos State, has reacted over alleged plans by Chief Joe Igbokwe and Eze Uche Dimgba to hire Igbo traditional rulers a.k.a Ezendigbo to make up photographs in order to use same to deceive Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu and the APC leaders in the State.
P.M.EXPRESS gathered that with the invitation sent out by the shameless group, Chief Igbokwe also promised cash gift of N10, 000 each to any Ezendigbo who will honour the invitation for the video recording and photographs, which he intends to show the Governor as guise that he has electoral value and can convince the Igbo to vote for APC in the State.
The Chairman of the Supreme Council of Ezendigbo in Lagos State, Eze Lawrence Nnamdi Eze, has urged the Lagos State Government and the APC leaders to disregard the purported Igbo town hall summit because Ezendigbo will not honour such deceitful invitation.
Eze Lawrence noted that the invitation was the handiwork of dissidents and desperate elements within the Igbo circle to deceive the APC and the Lagos State Government.
He explained that if the Governor and the Party leaders wanted to meet the Ezendigbo as the invitation claimed, they know the established channel to follow to invite them as it had happened in the past, through the Ohanaeze President, Chief Solomon Aguene, who is the Apex Igbo leader in Lagos State.
Eze stated that the Ezendigbo Council, which he is the Supreme Leader, comprised of men of integrity who cannot descend so low to honour such reckless invitation by shameless people within the Igbo circle in order to achieve their selfish interests.
Speaking in the same vein, the Deputy Chairman of Council of Ezendigbo in Lagos State, Eze Vincent Iwobi, condemned the invitation and stated that those planning such meeting without consultation with the leadership of Ohanaeze led by Chief Aguene and Ezendigbo were wasting their time because they will not attend such a meeting.
He explained that Ndigbo were aware that there are some elements within the Igbo circle, whose stock in trade is to use the Igbo traditional rulers to scam people including the APC and Government as representatives of the Igbo in the State.
In a similar manner, Ezendigbo, Lagos State, Eze Christian Nwachukwu, warned the APC leaders and the Lagos State Government to be mindful of those members of the cabals within the Igbo circle parading themselves as Igbo leaders because they are not representing the Igbo in Lagos State.
He noted that there has been established channels, which the State Government or the Party leaders can use any time they want to meet with the Igbo in the State and that had through Ohanaeze Ndigbo led by Chief Aguene.
Eze Nwachukwu stated for such invitation not to have come through the right channel is a nullity and cannot be honoured by the traditional rulers and indeed the Igbo in Lagos State.
The Ohanaeze Ndigbo President in Lagos, Chief Aguene, also reacted and stated that he was aware that Igbokwe and Dimgba were behind the invitation to humiliate the revered Igbo traditional rulers and the Institution.
He explained that their stock in trade is to cause crisis within the Igbo circle for their selfish interests and noted that the Igbo had since known their antics and have rejected them.
Aguene stated that the purpose of such invitation is to assemble the traditional rulers, record, take their photographs and send such to the Party leaders and Governor as a way of deceiving them that they can mobilize the Igbo in Lagos State for the Party, which is false.
He further explained that the Igbo has since rejected them and that even their faces alone at the campaign will make the Igbo to vote against the APC and that the Party leaders should be aware of this and distance themselves from Joe Igbokwe and Eze Uche Dimgba.
The plan to hire the traditional rulers to do deceptive photographs to show the Governor and APC leaders was muted following the outburst by the Chairman of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Political Forum,  Chief Ekwilo, that both Igbokwe and Dimgba have no electoral value and advised the APC not to deal with them because the Igbo people hate them.
The outburst was said to have rattled Igbokwe, Dimgba and his few supporters because Ekwilo was close to them and may have exposed their emptiness to the Party and Lagos State Government.
An insider in the group told P.M.EXPRESS that it was during the discussion that Dimgba muted the idea to Igbokwe to invite the Ezendigbo and offer them some amount of money and thereafter take the video recording, photographs and send same to the Party leaders and Governor Sanwo-Olu in order to prove that he still had Igbo people behind him.
The invitation stated:
“All Ndieze are cordially invited to a Town Hall Igbo summit at Blue Roof Agidingbi Road, Alausa  LTV premises opposite Coca Cola.  Date : Tuesday 4th October, 2022 .Time: 11 am  prompt. Please come on time as everybody is supposed to seated before the arrival of the Governor. Come as is promises to be a time for you tell the Governor and leaders of APC what Ndigbo want from Lagos State  Government.”
