Ohanaeze Ndigbo Lagos State has issued a clarion call to Ndigbo to ensure active participation in the 2027 general elections by registering and obtaining their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs).
P.M. EXPRESS reports as was disclosed by the Secretary General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Lagos State, Chief Robert Obasi  in an official statement.
The statement read:
“This is an official notice to Ndigbo living across the 57 Local Government Areas and Local Council Development Areas (LCDAs) in Lagos State. The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has scheduled Phase III of the Nationwide Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) to begin on *11th May 2026* and end on *10th July 2026*. This exercise is a vital step toward ensuring that every eligible citizen is prepared for the 2027 general elections.”
“The 2026 CVR will be conducted through two convenient methods: *online pre-registration* and *physical registration* at all approved INEC centers across Nigeria. The online option allows you to start your registration from home or your shop, while the physical process finalizes your details and captures your biometrics for the Permanent Voter Card (PVC).”
“Ndigbo in Lagos are strongly encouraged to turn out *en masse* for this exercise. Lagos remains home to one of the largest Igbo populations outside the South-East, and our participation in the democratic process is crucial to protecting our interests in governance, trade, education, and security.”
“Your Permanent Voter Card is more than a piece of plastic. It is your legal identity as a voter and your instrument of democratic power. Without a valid PVC, you cannot vote, and without voting, you forfeit your right to influence who governs you at the local, state, and federal levels.”
“This registration is not just a routine civic activity. It is your voice, your right, and your tool for change. The PVC empowers you to choose credible leaders, demand accountability, and contribute to building a Nigeria that works for all its citizens, regardless of tribe or religion.”
“As the 2027 general elections draw closer, the choices made at the ballot box will determine the future of our economy, infrastructure, and national unity. Critical decisions about jobs, safety, and social welfare will be made. Do not stand aside while others make those decisions for you.”
“For Ndigbo, this is also about representation. When we register and vote in large numbers, we increase our political influence and ensure that our concerns are heard in government. Silence and indifference only weaken our collective bargaining power in the nation we have helped to build.”
“We must also take responsibility for our families and communities. Encourage every eligible person aged 18 and above to register, including first-time voters, those who have relocated, and those whose PVCs were lost or damaged. No one should be left behind in this democratic process.”
“Act now while the window is open. Visit the nearest INEC registration center or complete your online pre-registration at *www.cvr.inecnigeria.org*. Ensure that all your information is accurate and follow up to collect your PVC when it is ready. A registered voter today is a powerful citizen tomorrow.”
“Remember, when you register and vote, you are not just participating in an election. You are defending the future of your children, securing the prosperity of your community, and protecting the legacy you will pass to the next generation. Let us rise as one people and make our voice count in 2027.”
