Ojodu LCDA Disburses N2.5m In Scholarships & Bursaries To Outstanding Students

In a move to support the educational aspirations of its constituents, the Hon Segun Odunmbaku’s administration in Ojodu LCDA, Lagos State, on Tuesday held a bursary award ceremony honouring deserving students within its LCDA.
The event, presided over by the Executive Chairman, Hon. Segun Odunmbaku, saw a substantial N2.5million allocated to reward 32 exceptional students with scholarships and bursaries.
Hon. Odunmbaku, alongside key government officials including SLG Hon. Olaide John Bello, Council Treasurer Mr. Ibrahim Oladapo, HOD Education Mr. Adekoya Akeem, and Supervisor for Education Hon. Dayo Olarenwaju, presided over the ceremony. The distinguished gathering underscored the administration’s commitment to fostering educational achievement within the community.
During his keynote address, Hon. Odunmbaku highlighted the transformative power of education in individual and societal development. He reaffirmed the administration’s dedication to human capital development, encouraging the beneficiaries to utilize the council’s digital skills training programmes for further growth.
In a noteworthy announcement, Hon. Odunmbaku awarded special scholarships of ₦500,000 each to two students who had achieved first-class honors—Apatira Abdulhameed, a Civil and Environmental Engineering graduate from UNILAG, and Akinreti Oluwajuwon Olajumoke, a Biochemistry graduate from LASU. Additionally, 30 students received bursaries of ₦50,000 each.
The awards were met with heartfelt appreciation from the recipients, who described the financial support as a significant milestone in their academic journeys. This gesture reflects Ojodu LCDA’s steadfast dedication to nurturing educational success and investing in the future of its youth.
The ceremony marked a reaffirmation of the council’s commitment to empowering the next generation of leaders and innovators, laying a solid foundation for their continued academic and professional achievements.
