ONC Wants President Tinubu To Pay Special Attention To Rivers State Politics

Posted on October 13, 2024
The Orashi National Congress, ONC Worldwide, has urged President Bola Tinubu to pay close attention to political developments in Rivers State to avert further breakdown of law and order.
In a statement on Sunday 13th October, 2024, signed by Amb Comrade Emeni Ibe, the President General, the ONC called for immediate actions by Mr. President.
For months now, Rivers Governor, Sir Siminalayi Fubara and the FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike, have been at loggerheads over the political soul of the state and the respected Niger Delta socio-cultural group said that the political tension in the state is capable of causing further breach of public peace, which will threaten the course of democracy in the state.
The ONC said, “Rivers is of special interest to all of  us. We believe that the issues we are dealing with in Rivers State are far beyond political godfatherism, but that of desperation for state capture by all means and at all costs”.
“The extent to which some of the dramatis personae are going with their self-seeking adventurous activities is quite worrisome as it appears that they do not care if democracy is truncated in Nigeria. We therefore, appeal to Mr. President to do the needful and genuinely address the situation before it becomes too late.”
