Ooni Receives Moniepoint CEO, Commends Company’s Impact On Nigerians

The Permanent Chairman of the Southern Nigerian Traditional Rulers Council (SNTRC), Arole Oodua Olofin Adimula and the Natural Head of the Oduduwa race worldwide, the Ooni of Ife, Ooni Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, CFR, Ojaja II, on Monday received the Chief Executive Officer of  Moniepoint Microfinance Bank, Tosin Eniolorunda, at the ancient Ile-Oodua Palace in Ile-Ife.
According to the statement by the Director of Media and Public Affairs, Ooni’s Palace, Otunba Moses Olafare, the Moniepoint CEO was accompanied by members of his management team during the courtesy visit to the Ooni.
Eniolorunda and his entourage were warmly received by the Ooni, traditional chiefs and traditional drummers, who entertained guests with cultural performances at the palace.
Speaking during the visit, Eniolorunda appreciated the Ooni for his continuous support and encouragement towards indigenous businesses and young entrepreneurs.
“I started Moniepoint here in Ife while studying at Obafemi Awolowo University. Seeing Kabiyesi today is a thing of joy for me because you have always encouraged me to strive for greatness.
“You have seen what we are doing for Nigerians through financial services and empowerment. We believe in helping people grow their businesses and creating opportunities for others. We will continue to do more to positively impact lives across the country,” he said.
The Moniepoint founder further reaffirmed the company’s commitment to deepening financial inclusion, especially among small business owners and underserved communities in Nigeria.
In his remarks, the Ooni, who is also the Co-Chairman of the National Council of Traditional Rulers of Nigeria (NCTRN) described Eniolorunda as a worthy son whose achievements have continued to place the countryon the global map of innovation and entrepreneurship.
“You are a worthy son, and I am very proud of you.
“You can never write your history without Ile-Ife. Your company has become one of the fastest-growing financial institutions in Nigeria, and what you are doing for Nigerians is highly commendable.
“You have broken several banking norms positively through innovation, hard work and dedication. I am also a beneficiary of your scheme, and I know the positive impact your company is making in the lives of many people,” Ooni said.
The revered monarch praised Moniepoint for supporting businesses, creating employment opportunities and leveraging technology to simplify financial transactions for millions of Nigerians.
He also urged Nigerian youths to emulate Eniolorunda’s determination, creativity and commitment to excellence, noting that resilience and vision remain critical ingredients for success in life.
