Operation Crush Operatives Arrest 8 Cult Members, Recover Arms

The fight against cultism in Lagos is really gaining momentum as Police operatives from Operation Crush in the state have reportedly arrested eight members of a cult group including their wanted hit man, Ifeoluwa Dodo, and recovered arms during the operation.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the incident happened at Bariga area of Lagos where the suspects had their operational base; from where they moved and caused violence in the state.
That was as disclosed by the PPRO, DSP Bala Elkana. He said that on 26th June, 2019, at about 8am, operatives of Operation Crush from Bariga Police Station arrested Ifeoluwa Dodo,19, a strong member of Aiye Confraternity at Odo-Eran Street, Bariga.
DSP Elkana revealed that the suspect had been on the wanted list of the Police for the murder of one Ojo Taiwo on February, 2019, at Bariga.
He was said to have led the operation that caused the death of late Ojo and then escaped after leading eight other members of his cult to carry out the murder. He said five members of his gang were initially arrested and charged to Court for murder and were remanded in prison custody.
Elkana said on the same date at about 5.30pm the operatives arrested one Kunle Oyediran, 24, of Ifelodun Street Bariga with two other members of his gang. He said that the suspected cult members were responsible for series of violent attacks and robberies in Bariga.
He said the suspects will be charged to Court for the alleged offences.
The Lagos State Commissioner of Police, CP Zubairu Muazu, had earlier warned that the Police will not allow any activity of criminal elements including cultism in any area of the State. He had warned criminals either to change or relocate elsewhere. The CP seems to be marching his words with action across the state.
