Orashi National Congress To Host 4-Day Peace, Unity & Security Summit

Notable Niger Delta socio-cultural group, the Orashi National Congress, ONC, representing the people of the Orashi region, has announced plans to host a four-day Peace, Unity and Security Summit aimed at promoting harmony, cooperation, and improved security across the region.

 

The summit, themed “Let’s Embrace Peace, Unity and Security in Orashi Region,” is scheduled to hold from June 18th to June 21st, 2026, beginning daily at 11:00am across different local government areas in the region.

 

According to the organizers, the summit will be held at the following locations:

June 18 – Abua/Odual LGA Council Secretariat Conference Hall

June 19 – Ahoada West LGA

June 20 – ONELGA

June 21 – Ahoada East LGA

 

The event will be held under the distinguished chairmanship of Comrade Chidi Dogini, Chairman of Ekpeye Oil and Gas Pipeline Host Communities.

 

Special Guest of Honour for the summit is the Commissioner of Police, Rivers State, CP Olugbenga Adepoju, while other notable guests expected at the event include Lt. Col. B. M. Ibrahim, Commander FOB Nigeria Army 6 Division Garrison Ahoada; Lt. Col. M. Y. Shimfe, Commanding Officer, COAS Intervention Battalion VIII Headquarters Ahoada; and Dr. Akpos Mezeh, General Manager, Community and Security Affairs, Pipeline Infrastructure Nigeria Limited (PINL).

Also expected are the Ahoada, Omoku and Degema Area Commanders, all Divisional Police Officers (DPOs) in Orashi, DSS Directors, JTF Commanders, and other security agencies operating within the region.

Critical stakeholders and special guests listed for the summit include Hon. Solomon Abuba Ochoroma, Executive Chairman of Ahoada East LGA; Hon. Engr. Owolobi Ofori, Executive Chairman of Abua/Odual LGA; Hon. Eugene Chita Epelle JP, Executive Chairman of Ahoada West LGA; and Hon. Dr. Chukwu Ogbogu Shedrack Esq, Executive Chairman of Ogba/Egbema/Ndoni LGA.

Speaking on the significance of the summit, the host and President General of ONC, Amb. Emeni Ibe (JP AP), stated that the initiative is designed to foster peace, strengthen unity among communities, and encourage collaboration between security agencies, traditional institutions, youths, and stakeholders in addressing security challenges in the Orashi region.

The summit is expected to attract community leaders, youths, traditional rulers, government officials, and security stakeholders from across Rivers State and beyond.
