Osun Govt Distributes Gbowoga Cash Cards To Persons With Disabilities

As part of efforts towards improving the standard of living of persons Living with Disabilities (PLWD), the Osun State Government has empowered persons with disabilities in the state with cash to ameliorate their plight.

The Cash cards which have been credited with funds were distributed to the beneficiaries at the event, held at the lodge of The Joint National Association of Person With Disability, Testing Ground Area, Osogbo on Monday, 6th of June, 2022.

While handing over their cash Cards to the beneficiaries on behalf of the state government, the State Commissioner for Commerce, Industry, Co-operatives and Empowerment, Dr Bode Olaonipekun, explained that the empowerment is aimed at ensuring that this set of people are self sustained and in line with the state government’s commitment to wealth creation and poverty eradication among its citizenry.

The Commissioner charged the beneficiaries to make judicious use of the Money given to them. He added that the government would carry out a follow-up to ensure that they are using it for what it is meant for.

He assured that the state government will continue to provide friendly environment for them to harness their full potentials.

He urged the Physically challenge persons in the state to vote enmasse for the re-election of Governor Gboyega Oyetola on July 16th gubernatorial election so as to continue to enjoy the good governance of the present administration.

During the welcome address, the State Chairman of the Joint National Association of Person With Disability (JONAPID), Mr Stephen Oluwafemi appreciated the state government for taking their welfare as priority.

He urged his people to reciprocate the good gesture of Governor Gboyega Oyetola by showing their unflinching support to the present administration.

The former chairman of the Association Mr. Kehinde Onitiju assured Governor Gboyega Oyetola of their massive votes in the coming governorship election as they want to continue to enjoy the gesture as no government has ever remembered or honored them the way the present administration has done so far.

The gbowoga initiative was an initiative of the office of the Firstlady Mrs. Kafayat Oyetola in partnership with Perculiar Engineering company handling road constructions in the state where 100million Naira were distributed to 10,000 petty traders and persons living with disabilities in the state.
