Oyo State Govt. Appoints Substantive Principal Officers For Polytechnic Ibadan

The Oyo State government has approved the appointment of Dr. Lasisi Taiwo Abideen as the Rector of The Polytechnic, Ibadan.

The approval was made by the Oyo State Governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde through a letter.

In the same vein, Dr Olajide Taiwo Sherifat has been appointed as the Registrar, while Mr. Adegbola Abiodun Kolawole has been named the Bursar and Mr. Osunrinade Olukunle Akinbola has been appointed as the librarian of the institution.

The Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, Hon. Olusegun Olayiwola, disclosed this on Tuesday in his office after receiving the approval letter from the Governor.

Hon. Olayiwola explained that the appointment of the four principal officers followed due process, noting that the exercise commenced with a public advertisement in national newspapers and was followed by a series of interviews conducted by the Governing Council of the institution, chaired by Prof. Lanre Nassar.

It should be noted that the institution’s principals were in acting capacity since 2005.

While congratulating the newly appointed officers, Hon. Olayiwola stated that their appointments take effect from July 31st 2026, and are for a single tenure of five years.
