OYRTMA To Clampdown On Tricyclists Without Permit & Defaced Windscreen

The Oyo State Road Traffic Management Authority (OYRTMA) has said tricycle riders, must get a hackney permit, revenue ticket to operate in the State.

This warning was given by OYRTMA chairman, Major Adesagba Adekoya (Rtd), in Ibadan on Thursday.

The Chairman noted that tricycle riders fond of defacing their windscreen with different stickers aside hackney permit and revenue ticket will be apprehended.

He noted that unecessary stickers on windscreens is one of the factors that causes accident on the roads.

Major Adekoya added that safety of lives and property is an obligation of all stakeholders and road users.

In a related development, the Chairman, has directed all OYRTMA commanders to mobilize their personnel as from Monday, 20th May for enforcement of a special operation, tagged “Operation Stop and Remove Stickers On Tricycle Windscreen”.

Adesagba also said roadside automobile mechanics sighted around Aliwo road and setback of water reservoir, Agodi gate Ibadan to vacate the premises immediately.

He frowned at the unwholesome act by the mechanics, saying their acts constitute safety hazard and environmental infraction in the area.

The Chairman therefore, said the roadside automobile mechanics must stop their activities and vacate the spot with immediate effect.
