Pastor Creates Own WAEC Board, Dupes Candidates N6m

A Nigerian Pastor, Adeniyi Joshua has been arrested after he obtained about N6m from students, candidates who wanted to write 2018 WAEC Examinations by creating his own fake board in Lagos.

P.M.EXPRESS reports that the police alleged that the 48-year old Pastor Joshua created his own WAEC board for candidates to write ‘his own WAEC’ exams and ended up defrauding them in Lagos.

The incident happened at El Supreme School located at Igbogbo area of Ikorodu town, Lagos – the school ran by Joshua.

P.M.EXPRESS confirmed from the police that Joshua obtained money from the victims by setting up his own WAEC board and examination questions for the candidates to write.

It was gathered that he had been doing so before he ran out of luck as he went ahead to register another set of candidates for May/June 2018 WAEC examination.

He had already procured forged WAEC examination booklets and answer sheets in preparation for the exams before the information leaked that he was fake.

However, it turned out that his own WAEC was actually fake and the candidates who registered and wrote the examination later discovered that they were duped.

The matter was reported to the police who arrested Joshua for interrogations.
The examination papers which he sold to the candidates were also recovered as exhibits.

P.M.EXPRESS scooped that the suspect confessed that he set his own examination questions for the candidates that registered with him but had no connection with WAEC board.

He was charged before the Ogba Magistrates court, Lagos for the alleged offence.

He pleaded not guilty.

The prosecutor, Inspector Raphael Donny did not object his bail. Thus the Presiding Magistrates, Mrs O.A. Adedayo granted Joshua bail in the sum of N2m with two sureties in like sum.
However, Joshua was remanded in prison custody pending when he will perfect his bail condition.
The matter was adjourned till 30 May, 2018.
