PDP Had Prior Knowledge Of Election Postponement, APC Alleges

National Chairman of All Progressive Congress (APC), Comrade Adams Oshiomhole has alleged that the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) had very strong knowledge that the election earlier scheduled for Saturday, 16 February, 2019 will be postponed.
The election was eventually postponed by a week by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC). This made the APC to suspect that the electoral body must have been compromised.
Oshiomhole revealed while reading the communique of an emergency caucus meeting of the APC in Abuja that the feelers from the camp of PDP few hours to the time INEC announced the postponement of the election suggested that the PDP was aware that the poll would be shifted .
“We monitored the tweets sent out by the PDP and its people and some other communications coming out from their camp and finally the postponement. This showed that INEC has been compromised. This called for concerns. We can only warn that the electoral body should put its house in order so that we can have a free and fair election and ensure that the new dates are sacrosanct,” Oshiomhole said.
He said that going by the electoral law, the APC will continue its campaign till midnight Thursday, 21 February, as not doing this will give voters the excuse not to come out to vote on Saturday.
He warned the foreign observers that while Nigeria would love them to observe the elections, they should have it at the back of their minds that the country would not condone any act of interference from any foreign power.
He called on party faithfuls and all Nigeria to be steadfast and be on their guard as APC will be democratic in its bid to win the 2019 general election.
