The directive by the Lagos State Commissioner of Police, CP Zubairu Muazu, to Divisional Police Officers to fish out criminals elements in their various areas, may have paid off following the arrest of suspected cultists in Ejigbo area.

P.M.EXPRESS reports that on 7th July 2019, in strict obedience to the CP’s directive, the Divisional Police Officer, Ejigbo Division, CSP Okuwobi Olabisi, led a patrol team consisting, Vigilante Group of Nigeria, VGN and LNSC, to patrol the nooks and crannies of Ejigbo.

It was gathered that while the team was on patrol, the DPO got wind of a large gathering of suspected Aiye cult members inside the changing room of Ejigbo Mini Stadium.

They swiftly moved to the scene and the hoodlums tried to escape by scaling the fence on sighting the Police. They were given a hot chase and five suspected  cultists were arrested in the process. They were apprehended with the following exhibits: one locally made pistol, three unexpended carriages, four pair of scissors, one knife, one yellow beret with the insignia of Aiye cult, one hammer and some quantities of weeds/seeds suspected to be Indian hemp.

The unrelenting team continued its patrol where more arrest of people suspected to be cultists were made.
Below are their names: Nurudeen Usman, Aro Gaddafi, 53yrs (found selling weeds suspected to be Indian hemp), Onyedikachi Tennyson Obinna, Augustine Chima, Azeez Busliu, Kingsley Edet, Kingsley Onuoha, Charles Onyekachi, Loveday Joshua and Lawrence  Umorelym.

It was gathered that members of Aiye Cult group had been threatening to avenge the recent killing of their member and Ejigbo had been slated as their battle field for the carnage but CP Muazu’s result oriented crime fighting techniques paid off.
