Pregnant Woman, 5-year Old Pupil Crushed To Death

A 40-year old pregnant woman, Bose Ayotunde and a 5-year old school pupil, Miss Esther Olawole, died after a private driver, Musa Isah crushed them with a Toyota vehicle on the street of Lagos.
The incident happened at Surulere Road in Dopemu area of Lagos where the victims resided.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the police also alleged that two other victims, the daughter of late Mrs. Ayotunde, Esther, 5 and one Chidera Chukwu, 15 were still lying critically ill at an undisclosed hospital in Lagos. The driver, Musa Isah, 32 has been arrested.
P.M.EXPRESS gathered that late Mrs. Ayotunde went out with her daughter, Esther when the driver hit them on the road. The mother died with her pregnancy at the spot but her daughter, Esther survived and was rushed to hospital with other victims where they were being treated.
The police alleged that Isah drove one Toyota Tundera with registration number APP231EQ in a reckless and dangerous manner on the highway which caused the death of the victims and injured many.
He was charged before the Ogba Magistrate Court over the fatal accident that claimed lives and injured many.
He pleaded not guilty.
Chief Magistrate, Mrs. M.I. Dan-Oni granted him bail in the sum of N500,000 with two sureties in like sum.
However, Musa was remanded in prison custody pending when he will perfect the bail condition.
The matter was adjourned till 5 March, 2018.
P.M.EXPRESS gathered that the suspect and his family had indicated interest to settle with the victims’ families as a means of settling the matter out of court.
