Prophet Charged For Raping Girl, 16, Granted Bail

Prophet Sunday Adelaja, who allegedly raped, impregnated and offered to get married to a 16-year old girl, may be on his way to freedom if he is able to meet the bail conditions after he was charged before the Court.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the Police from the Criminal Investigation Department in Abeokuta, Ogun State, had charged Prophet Adelaja before the Court for sexual abuse and was granted bail in the sum of N100,000 with two sureties in like sum.
The incident happened at Abeeka Street, Ijebu Iwaya Mushin area of Ijebu Ode in Ogun State, where they reside.
Prophet Adelaja was charged before the Magistrates Court presided by Mr. B. A. Adefunle, on 16th December, 2019 and he pleaded not guilty.
The prosecutor, Inspector Soligbade Taofeek, did not object to the bail conditions hence the Court granted him bail and adjourned till 10th February, 2020.
Prophet Adelaja was said to have been making efforts to perfect his bail conditions since the Police charged him with minor bailable offence and was granted bail.
Prophet Adelaja, who is reportedly married to two wives, allegedly defiled the Junior Secondary School 3 student twice, resulting in the pregnancy. He has now made an offer to the family to get married to the victim as his third wife despite her age.
