Prophet In Police Net Over Sex With Girl, 5, Inside Church

Police officers from Ikotun Division have arrested a popular clergyman, Prophet Elisha Ayooluwa Ajigbare, of the Mountain Zion Prayer and Deliverance Ministry, Ijegun area of Lagos, over allegation of sex with a 5-year old girl inside the church premises.

P.M.EXPRESS reports that the alleged sex scandal, which involved little girls who were children of his members, happened at 21 Irawo Owuro Street, Ijegun, Lagos, where the church is located.

The prophet was arrested on Friday following report to the Family Support Unit, Ikotun Division by one of the members of the church, Mrs. Abodunrin Toyin, that Prophet Ajigbare molested her daughter and children of other members of the church.
The Police moved into action, arrested Ajigbare and detained him at the Station for investigation over the alleged rape.
During interrogation, he was said to have denied the allegations but the little girl had already revealed how the prophet removed her pant and penetrated her when her mother had gone to work inside the church where they resided then.
It was gathered that the victim was no longer a virgin at that age due to assault on her by Prophet Ajigbare.
When P.M.EXPRESS correspondent visited the Police Station, the prophet was still undergoing interrogation over the dastardly act.
Efforts to speak with the DPO proved abortive as he was said to have gone for routine checks within the Division.
However, a Police source confirmed the incident and said that the suspect will be charged to Court after the conclusion of investigations.
The mother of the victim, Mrs. Toyin, confirmed the incident and explained that the prophet took advantage of her family living within the church premises to defile her daughter because she usually left the house early in the morning for business and returns in the evening.
She said when the incident happened, members of the church including other pastors pleaded with her to forgive him but she found out that her daughter was not the only victim, adding that other small girls had also been penetrated and defiled by Prophet Ajigbare, who is now cooling his head inside the Police cell.
