Reception Ceremony Held To Celebrate Newly Appointed SGF, Senator (Dr) George Akume, CON.

On Saturday, June 17th 2023, Progressives came out in their numbers to celebrate the appointment of Senator (Dr) George Akume as the new Secretary to the Government of the Federation at the Congress Hall, Transcorp Hilton, Abuja, Nigeria.

It is worth mentioning that Senator Akume was appointed the 21st Secretary to the Government of the Federation by H.E President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, a few weeks ago.

The event was graced by notable Progressives, Foreign Diplomats, Captains of Industries, Diaspora Progressive Chieftains, Party Stalwarts, and other dignitaries.

In attendance were Sen. Abdullahi Adamu, the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC); Governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi State; Governor Rev Fr. Hyacinth Alia of Benue State; Sen. Godswill Akpabio, Senate President; Sen. Barau Jibrin, Deputy Senate President; Mrs Dame Patience Jonathan, the wife of a former President, Sen. Adams Oshiomole, former Governor of Edo State; Mr Seyi Tinubu, the son of the President; Mr Tonye Cole, the Rivers State Gubernatorial candidate; Mr Jack Rich and Dr Nicholas Felix, former Presidential aspirants; Sen. Magnus Abe, a Rivers APC chieftain; Amb. Ginika Tor, Secretary, Central Planning Committee; General Buba Marwa, CON, (Rtd), former Lagos State Governor; Sen. Grace Bent, a party chieftain from Adamawa; Hon. Prince Ade Omole led the high-powered Diaspora team, which included Hon. Nick Apata, Otunba Oluwatoyin Oyekanmi, Dr Mustapha Abdullahi, Barr Oby Nwufor, Princess Ann Ehigiator, and Dr Wole Aboderin.

The event witnessed the presence of high-ranking members of the Nigerian leadership who came to show massive support for the newly inaugurated Renewed Hope administration of President Tinubu, who entrusted the administrative functions of the Government to Senator George Akume as the SGF.
