Posted on February 1, 2026

The Rivers Grassroots Movement (RGM), Ahoada East Chapter, on Saturday held a crucial stakeholders’ meeting at the Civic Centre, Ahoada Town, bringing together party executives, ward coordinators, non-indigenes coordinators, student leaders, elders’ forum members, and key leaders of the movement.

The well-attended meeting reaffirmed the unity and purpose of the RGM under the banner “One Rivers, One Voice, One Purpose,” as participants deliberated on critical political developments in Rivers State and the future direction of the movement at the grassroots.

During the meeting, Comrade Festus moved and passed a vote of confidence on the Chairman and Ambassador Emeni Ibe, as the leader of the Rivers Grassroots Movement in Ahoada East, who has demonstrated commitment, inclusiveness, and steadfast leadership.

The stakeholders also unanimously condemned the ongoing impeachment process against the Governor and Deputy Governor of Rivers State, describing it as unnecessary, destabilizing, and contrary to the collective interest of the people. Members urged political actors to prioritize peace, governance, and development over actions capable of plunging the state into crisis.

In his response, Ambassador Emeni Ibe graciously accepted the vote of confidence, expressing gratitude to members and stakeholders for their trust and support. He assured the gathering of his continued dedication to grassroots mobilization, unity, and the protection of democratic values in Ahoada East and Rivers State at large.

Ambassador Ibe further commended the leadership of the Rivers Grassroots Movement at the state level, particularly Ambassador Jackrich Sobomabo Jackrich, for what he described as consistent and tireless efforts toward the pursuit of sustainable development and political stability in Rivers State.

The meeting concluded with a renewed call for solidarity among members, commitment to peaceful political engagement, and unwavering support for progressive leadership that reflects the aspirations of the people at the grassroots.
