The police operatives from Special Anti-Robbery Squad, SARS, led by CSP Peter Gana have intensified efforts to unmask the robbers who allegedly invaded the Lagos home of Senator Solomon Adeola, popularly known as Yayi, and carted away millions of Naira he reportedly kept at home.

P.M.EXPRESS gathered that apart from the money, the robbers ransacked the rooms, stole his wife’s expensive jewelries worth millions of Naira and escaped.

The incident happened at his house located in Idimu area of Lagos while he, his wife and members of his family were not around except the domestic staff.
The total amount of money carted away by the robbers was not disclosed because they were said to be taking the inventory of what they lost to the robbery incident.
It was gathered that the robbers had burgled the house when the security men were on duty at night, gained entrance, broke the rooms, stole the items and escaped.
After the incident, Senator Adeola was contacted; he rushed down to check where he reportedly kept the money but it was no more there. The two domestic staff said to have been employed from Niger Republic reportedly fled from the house and escaped out of Nigeria.
Meanwhile, the police have arrested some suspects within the area in connection with the incident and they have been detained for about two weeks without charging them to court.
It was gathered that the some of the suspects have made some useful statements that led to the arrest of more suspects over the incident.
However, some relations of the suspects are now protesting over their long detention claiming that they were not allowed to see the suspects and the police have refused to charge them.
When our correspondent visited the SARS office, some of the suspects were seen undergoing interrogation but were not allowed to speak with the reporter.
When our reporter contacted Senator Adeola’s media aide over the matter, he claimed that he was not aware of such incident because he was in Abuja.
People resident around the area were said to have kept sealed lips as they were afraid that they might be arrested by the police to explain what they knew about the robbery.
However, some of them confirmed the incident but suspected that it was the handiwork of an insider working with the respected lawmaker.
