Robbers Invade, Attack Doctors At LUTH

Robbers invaded the Lagos University Teaching Hospital, LUTH, attacked some doctors at their quarters, carted away properties and escaped.

P.M.EXPRESS reports that the incident happened at about 3 am at the doctors quarters within the premises of LUTH in Idi Araba, Lagos.

Some of the victims were Dr. Balogun Boluwayiyo and Dr. Ade Opemifo who lost their valuable items at their apartments.

Some of the items stolen during the operation were laptops, phone tablets, mobile phones and other valuable items.

It was gathered that the men of the underworld struck, forcefully gained access into the apartments, stole the items and escaped. The police did not state if the victims were inside their apartments when the robbers struck.

P.M.EXPRESS gathered that after the incident, the matter was reported to the police at Ilasa Division who commenced investigations and arrested one of the suspects.

The suspect, an 18-year old, Moses Udoh, who was apprehended and handcuffed on the street, managed to dislodge the police, escaped with the handcuff and destroyed it.

It was not certain if the LUTH security men were on duty when the robbers struck.
However, Udoh was later arrested and charged before Isolo Magistrates court for stealing and destroying the police property.

He pleaded not guilty.

The prosecutor, Mr Oje Uagbale did not oppose his bail.
The Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. O.A. Teluwo granted him bail in the sum of N100,000 with two sureties in like sum.
He was remanded in prison custody pending when he will perfect his bail condition.
The matter was adjourned till 6 July, 2018.
