Robbers Invade County Club, Cart Away Money

Some dare-devil armed robbers invaded the popular Country Club Guest House in Lagos, inflicted injuries on guests, carted away money including belongings and escaped

P.M.EXPRESS reports that the incident happened at Lakers Country Club on Ebute Road in Igbogbo area of  Ikorodu, Lagos.

It was gathered that the guests had gone to the club in the evening to relax with their friends at about 8pm on that day. Suddenly, the robbers were said to have released gun shots and rounded up the guests, beat them mercifully, robbed them of their belongings and escaped.

Some of the victims attacked and robbed were Ogunfolaju Oladimeji who lost N1m cash to the robbers, Balogun Idris, Nifemi Solipo and others.
After the attack, the robbers escaped with their loot and the matter was reported to the police who moved into action and arrested one of the suspects.
According to police sources, the suspect and others invaded the place, robbed guests and escaped before Samuel was eventual apprehended while others were said to be at large.
The suspect, one James Samuel, was later charged before the Ogba Magistrates Court for conspiracy and stealing.
He pleaded not guilty.
The prosecutor, Mr. Benson Emerhi, did not oppose his being granted bail but asked the court for a date for hearing of the matter.
Thus, the Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. O. Sule-Amzat, granted Samuel bail in sum N200,000 with two sureties in like sum.
He was remanded in prison custody pending when he will perfect his bail conditions.
The matter was adjourned till 14th March, 2019.
