The Chairman of Ogun State Obas Council, His Royal Highness, Oba Kehinde Olugbenle has appealed to the Ogun State branch of Nigerian Labour Congress and Trade Union Council to shelve the ongoing strike action and give room for a dialogue/fresh negotiation with the State Government.

The appeal came during the Scaling-Up of “Araya”, a Community Base Health Insurance Scheme (CBHIS) at Asade Agunloye Pavilion Empire Field in Ilaro, Ogun State.

Olugbenle said as much as the State Government understand the plight of the Civil servant, the Union should also put into consideration the present economic situation of the State in particular the Country.

Performing the official symbolic presentation of the card to the beneficiaries, Oba Olugbenle call on all pregnant women and parents whose children are under the age of 5 to register for the “Araya” programme, advising other States to emulate Ogun State.
Commenting on the programme, Senator Iyabo Anisulowo, said the news of Araya CBHIS got to her in London.

While applauded the Ibikunle Amosun’s led administration for the good initiatives, Anisulowo urges Yewa citizens to take advantage of the free programme particularly those living below poverty level. She said the programme is first of its kind in the State.
Leading the delegation, Speaker of the Ogun State House Assembly, Rt. Hon. Suraj Adekunbi, said the gesture of the present administration was part of its promises to the good people of Ogun at providing affordable, good and qualitative health care services.
In his good will message, the State Commissioner for Health, Dr. Babatunde Ipaye, said the State Government has approved the sum of N100 million to register pregnant women and Children under 5 free of charge.
Ipaye said the scheme which was recognise locally and Internationally has received appraisal from the Federal Government, adding that the Ministry has been called upon by the FG to showcase the achievement of Araya for other States to emulate.
