SYF Set For Peaceful Protest Over Total Neglect By NDDC

Posted on July 4, 2025

A respected group, Southern Youth Foundation, SYF, has expressed readiness to embark on a peaceful protest over total neglect of members of the group by the Management of Niger Delta Development Commission, NDDC.
Making the disclosure in Port Harcourt, Rivers State on Friday, the National President, Amb. Comrade Emeni Ibe, hinted that the group has equally written to the Police authorities about the planned protest scheduled to hold or 8th July or 10th July, 2025.
He said, “The Southern Youth Foundation of Nigeria has concluded plans to go on a peaceful protest targeted to register our displeasure about the total neglect in all the initiatives of the NDDC”.
“Through the protest, we wish to express our profound concern over continued neglect of our group and the members in the nine Niger Delta states, not minding our tireless efforts, sacrifices and unwavering support.”
“It must be noted that we have been standing as formidable pillars of support, championing the interests of the Niger Delta region. We have continued to rally people towards peace, ensuring stability, security and progress in the region.”
“It is therefore, unimaginable that this high level of injustice will be meted on us. Though we believe strongly in the leadership of Chief Dr Samuel Ogbuku, he will have to correct this oversight as regards the complete neglect of young and supportive minds covered in the Southern Youth Foundation of Nigeria. We desire that history will not only remember him for the several infrastructural strides but for justice and fairness.”
