Tincan Island High School, Lagos 1993 Set Holds Reunion Party
*Marks 30th Anniversary Of Graduation Year
The 1993 Set of Tincan Island High School, Olodi Apapa, Lagos held a double celebration on Sunday where they marked the 30th anniversary of their graduation from the school and also celebrated a successful end of the Year 2023/Reunion party
It was indeed a merry making double celebration for the former students of the Tincan Island High School who used the occasion to reflect on their school days life amid pomp.
The Class of 1993 who are captains of their various business endeavours that spanned across different sectors of the Nigerian society in politics, public and private sectors converged on Luster Suites, Okota, Isolo, Lagos State for the twin celebration.
The chairman of the 1993 Set of Tincan Island High School Old Students Association (TINCANSOSA), Comrade Ola Agboola Jnr. described the reunion ceremony as very unique because they used the occasion to mark the 30th anniversary the Set passed out from the school.
“It was a thing of joy for us to gather to rejoice and thank God for His mercy over us, keeping us alive to celebrate,” Comrade Agboola remarked amid clapping from his former school mates.
He said the association of the 1993 Set is a branch of the larger old students association of the Tincan Island High School which members of the Set are actively participants.
Comrade Agboola, who was elected as the chairman last year, said he would use his three years in office to affect his colleagues positively in terms of good welfare package and value added services which will stand the test of time.
He disclosed that the 1993 Set has a lot to do in the New Year which include inaugurating a project for Tincan Island High School according to the needs of the school, adding that a committee would be set up to map out modalities of instituting award platform for deserving stakeholders of the school who include former students, teachers and others.
He eulogised Mr. Oke Adebola Isiaka, one of the teachers who taught them while they were in the school. Mr. Oke, a Mathematics, Physics and Integrated Science teacher, was invited to join the reunion celebration by his former students.
Comrade Agboola, who is the Lagos State Coordinator of Centre for Anti-Corruption. and Open Leadership (CACOL), seeks cooperation from members of the association, even as he prayed for exponential increase in the life of all the 1993 Set students in the New Year.
