Under Obiano I Was Saved From Four Impeachment Attempts – Rita Maduagwu
MAZI EJIMOFOR OPARA

The immediate past Speaker of the Anambra State House of Assembly, Rt Hon. Rita Maduagwu, has reacted to an Online publication by Mr Chinedu Obigwe, a Senior Special Assistant to Governor Obiano, wherein it was alleged that the former Speaker, in the company of other former Lawmakers, is mooting the idea of scuttling the Governor’s plans as a result of what he (Chinedu) referred to as “the Governor’s failure to settle them”.
This allegation is not only weighty but also very demeaning. Rt. Hon. Rita Maduagwu is a consistent and loyal party faithful. She has invested so much in the development of the All Progressives Grand Alliance and significantly to some of the successful milestones of the Obiano Administration. It is very mischievous, in the least, that anyone would contemplate such an Amazon in the most unfriendly way. It is on record that her tenure as the Speaker remains one of the most turbulent from opposition elements due directly to her cordial relations with the Executive. The stability this brought to Governance at the time cannot be wished away by devious blackmails such as attempted by the publication.
She wishes to inform her supporters and well-wishers that the said publication bears no comeliness of truth nor does it represent her action in the past, present or future consideration.
According to her, “Our Party (APGA) is at a very important transition stage that requires the contributions of every stakeholder”. She further advised that the Party eschews all forms of bickerings and bitter gossips as they march towards November 6 Governorship elections, as this would help galvanize the support of all Stakeholders in bringing about resounding victory for the Party.
