A hungry 47-year old woman has been arrested in Lagos for stabbing a food seller who refused to sell on credit after owing N8,000 without paying.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the incident happened at 24, Alaba Street in Ejigbo, Lagos, where the victim sells food.
The victim, one Abiodun Ishola, was stabbed with a broken bottle close to her right eye by Aminat Ayileri who was angry that she did not sell food to her over debt. It was gathered that the suspect was a fashion designer but hardly got customers and had been struggling to survive. She had been going to the victim to buy food up the said amount and she decided not to sell to her until she had paid her debts. That did not go down well with Aminat who became angry and attacked her.
However, her action has landed her in trouble as she was charged before the Ejigbo Magistrates Court for assault.
She pleaded not guilty before the Court. The prosecutor, Supol Kenneth Asibor, did not oppose her being granted bail.
Thus, the Presiding Magistrate, Mr. T.0.Shomade, granted Aminat bail in the sum of N50,000 with one surety in like sum.
She was remanded in prison custody pending when she will perfect her bail condition. The matter was adjourned till 9th January, 2018.
