Y2025 Promotion Exercise: CSC Briefs Stakeholders 

The Lagos State Civil Service Commission (CSC) has briefed members of the Body of Permanent Secretaries, Directors, Admin and Human Resource and Schedule Officers from various Ministries, Department and Agencies (MDAs) on the modalities for the successful Year 2025 Promotion Exercise.

Speaking at the virtual briefing, the Permanent Secretary, CSC, Mr. Akinbode Obadina, emphasised the need for early commencement of the Year 2025 Promotion Exercise and also enumerated the Commission’s expectation.

He stressed that the primary objective for the early commencement of the Year 2025 Promotion Exercise is to achieve the target of harmonizing the January 1, Notional and Financial date for successful officers.

Disclosing the Commission’s efforts in ensuring that Officers who participated in the Year 2024 Promotion Exercise got the 1st January Notional date and 1st April as their Financial date, he said that the achievement further strengthened the Commission’s resolve in the actualization of the new target in the Year 2025

Obadina noted that Ministries, Departments and Agencies have been duly informed of the target through a Call Circular issued by the Commission on 15th November, 2024, stressing that the Union Executives have also been briefed.

Speaking further on the modalities for the Promotion Exercise, he informed that the usual hybrid structure for Promotion Exercise by the Commission would be adopted, adding that Physical sections of the Revised Structured Training Programme (RSTP) would be organised for Eligible Officers on Grade Levels 6-10 while Virtual Training Exercise would be conducted for Eligible Officers on Grade Levels 12 -16 with Oral interview

While urging all Eligible Officers participating in the Year 2025 Promotion Exercise to ensure formal and proper dressing, he informed that the approved Time-Table for the Year 2025 Promotion Exercise would be forwarded to relevant MDAs.

Obadina further stressed the need for eligible Officers to arrive early and register at least one hour before the commencement of each session, with their RSTP slips duly endorsed.

According to him, designated venues for the Year 2025 Promotion Exercise include: the Adeyemi-Bero Auditorium, Folarin Coker Conference Room of the Staff Clinic, Women Development Centre, State Treasury Office Conference Room, Public Service Staff Development Centre (PSSDC) as well as the Conference rooms of selected MDAs for some professional cadre.
