Gov Dapo Abiodun Declares Senator Andy Uba Winner Of Anambra APC Governorship Primary

The former Lawmaker representing Anambra South Senatorial Zone in the Senate, Senator Emmanuel Andy Uba, MFR, has been declared winner of the 2021 APC Governorship Primary, which took place on Saturday June 26th, 2021, in the State.
Announcing the results in Awka early this morning, the Chairman of the Primary Election Committee and Governor of Ogun State, Prince Dapo Abiodun, declared that Senator Andy Uba secured a total number of 230,201 votes to beat 13 other aspirants to the APC Governorship ticket.
According to Gov. Dapo Abiodun, Chief Johnbosco Onunkwo came a distant second with 28,746 votes while Dr. Chidozie Nwankwo polled 21,281 votes to finish third.

According to Gov. Dapo Abiodun, election could not hold in Onitsha South Local Government area of the state due to logistics challenges but noted that the number of registered voters in the Local Government was far less than the margin between the winner and the second-placed aspirant.
The Primary Election started late in many Local Government areas due to delay in distribution of election materials from the State Collation Secretariat to the local government areas, however these initial challenges were resolved and accreditation and voting commenced. There were no reported cases of violence during yesterday’s primary election.
