Industrial Revolution: FIIRO & SV-NED Energy Ltd. Sign MoU

Federal Institute of Industrial research Oshodi (FIIRO) and Silicon Valley Nigeria Economic Development (SV-NED) Energy Ltd., are set to champion industrial revolution in Nigeria as they signed a Memorandum of Understanding in Lagos. 

The Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Silicon Valley Nigeria Economic Development (SV-NED) Energy Ltd, Amina Temitope Labinjo-Ajayi (JP), announced that foreign investors facilitated by SV-NED will be visiting Nigeria in a few weeks.

She revealed that the investors plan to invest approximately $19.5 billion in various sectors of Nigeria’s economy.

Labinjo-Ajayi, noting Nigeria’s abundance of human and material resources, said the country needs to be energized to achieve industrial revolution and economic transformation.

She called for the collaborative efforts of all stakeholders to move the country forward, citing examples of developed countries like China, the United States, Germany, Japan, Libya, and the United Kingdom, which achieved growth through industrial advancement and strong societal ethics.

The Director General/CEO of Federal Institute of Industrial Research, (FIIRO), Dr. Mrs. Jummai Adamu, in her address at the signing ceremony stated, “We are honoured to have in our midst, HRH, QUEEN MOTHER, AMB. AMINA TEMITOPE LABINJO AJAYI the Chairman/CEO SILICON VALLEY NIGERIA ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT ENERGY LIMITED”.

 

“I am particularly delighted to give the welcome address as the Chief host of this occasion of signing Memorandum of Understanding between the Federal Institute of Industrial research Oshodi (FIIRO), the foremost research Institute in Nigeria dedicated to industrial research and development and SV- NED Energy Limited.”

“We are happy to have you here today to explore potential collaborations on providing Corps Members and other Nigerians youths for training to acquire skills in the conversion of petroleum and diesel powered vehicles into compressed Natural Gas (CNG) electric Mobility vehicles. Also to partner on modern day Agriculture Nano technology and other FIIRO developed technologies.”

“The Federal institute of industrial research Oshodi is an agency under Federal Ministry of Innovation, Science and Technology, saddled with the responsibility of accelerating industrialization in Nigerial through research and development, by identifying and utilizing local raw materials, developing and upgrading indigenous technologies, and promoting market-driven research and development (R&D). FIIRO aims to be a leading center for science and technology-based research and development, contributing to the nation’s economic and social economic advancement.”

“Over the years FIIRO has developed 250 technologies based on available raw materials in Nigeria with appropriate machinery and developed technologies. About 100 of these technologies have been packaged ready for immediate commercialization.”

“Recently we developed local Technology in Conversion of Vehicles and Diesel generators to CNG using local raw materials which earned FIIRO first position in the last annual Science Expo in year 2024.  This Technology has been patented and the Certificate has been issued.”

“FIIRO as the pioneer of this technology in Nigeria has trained over 300 youths in the conversion processes through various intervention programs and in year 2025 we intend to train more youths using our zonal offices located in the six geo-political zones.”
