The curtain of the Kwara Closed Table Tennis Competition, which kicked off at the newly constructed Table Tennis Arena in Kwara State Stadium a few days ago, has dropped.
Constructed by the administration of Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, the iconic and spacious Table Tennis Arena is currently the largest in the whole of Nigeria.
The Closed Table Tennis Competition was organized by Mr. Dele Obasesin, a Yoruba sportscaster, partnered with SUIO Stainless & Steel, a sports promotion company, and the De-Wise School of Preliminary Studies.
The just-concluded competition was the first the arena hosted since it was completed and equipped with world-class table tennis equipments by the Governor AbdulRazaq-led administration.
The participants in the competition include para table tennis players and youngsters whose performances have been largely described as impressive and commendable.
The final phase of the competition was graced by the Chief Press Secretary to the Kwara State Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq and Bola Mogaji, the Executive Chairman of Kwara Sports Commission.
While commending the organisers and the players, Mr. Mogaji added, “Kwara has brand new Squash Courts, the best in Africa, and a world-class table tennis facility ready to put the state on the global sports map”.
