Prof. Odu Commiserates With Senator Mpigi’s Family

‎The Rivers State Deputy Governor, Prof. Ngozi Nma Odu, has commiserated with the family of Senator Barinada Mpigi, the lawmaker representing Rivers South East Senatorial District in the National Assembly.

‎In a statement issued on Saturday, 21st February, 2026, Prof. Odu expressed deep sorrow over the passing of the distinguished lawmaker, noting that the cold hands of death have taken away a dedicated public servant who contributed immensely to the growth and development of Rivers State and the nation at large.

‎According to her, Senator Mpigi’s impactful service as a member of the Federal House of Representatives representing Tai/Eleme/Oyigbo Federal Constituency for two tenures, and as Senator representing Rivers South East Senatorial District in the National Assembly until his demise, marked him out as a seasoned and committed legislator.

‎The Deputy Governor prayed to the Almighty God to grant his soul eternal rest and to give his family, loved ones, and constituents the fortitude to bear this irreparable loss.
