Biz Mogul, Mallinson Ukatu, Wife Escape Killer Charm

A business mogul, Mallinson Ukatu and his wife, Chinelo Ukatu have escaped death after one of his relations, Ikedi Geoffrey Onyeka allegedly planted a native charm to snuff life out of them in Lagos, Nigeria.
The incident happened at 117, Palm Avenue in Lagos where the suspect allegedly made the failed attempt to eliminate the couple.
Although the motive behind Onyeka’s action was not yet known, the residents suspected the attempt was to take over the large business empire of Ukatu after his death.
According to police, sometime in November 2016, Onyeka threatened the lives of the couple with native charms in order to kill them.
P.M.EXPRESS also gathered that he also made the threat through a recorded telephone conversation to two witnesses, Ikechi Onyekwere and Okohme Cornelius who leaked the information to the couple before he struck.
However, the attempt failed and the matter was reported to the police and Onyeka was arrested and charged before Isolo Magistrate’s court with conduct likely to cause breach of peace and threat to life under the Criminal Code.
Onyeka pleaded not guilty.
The presiding Magistrate, Mrs A. K. Shonubi granted Onyeka bail in the sum of N100,000 with two sureties in like sum.
He was remanded in prison custody pending when he will perfect his bail condition.
The matter was adjourned till 18 November, 2016.
