Primate Elijah Ayodele, founder and spiritual leader of the INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, Oke Afa in Isolo area may have prayed so hard for God to reveal those behind the two robbery incidents at his church this year alone in Lagos.

P.M.EXPRESS reports that the first was when some suspects broke into the church, collected money inside the offering box and carted away his customized microphone both worth N600,000 and escaped. The second incident was when the unidentified persons broke into the store inside the church premises and carted away about N400,000 cash from the sales of olive oil and other sacramentals and  escaped.

However, one of the suspects behind the burglary and robbery has finally been exposed recently and it happened to be a member of the church. The member, Mr. Abdulahi Ibrahim has been arrested. It was gathered that Ibrahim stole the money a day to his birthday, went to Badagry area, spent the money with his friends and came back to the church where he resided.

Ibrahim the suspect

By the time he returned, the burglary and stealing had already been reported to the Police at Ejigbo Division. He was arrested, detained in the police cell and his mother pleaded that she will pay the money in installments. However, it appeared that his mother was unable to meet up with the payment and Ibrahim was charged to court for the second time on burglary and stealing in the church.

The police alleged that the suspect broke into the store which was in the care of Mrs. Mohidat Anjorin and stole cash of N395, 000 and escaped. The incident happened at the church headquarters located at Prophet Ayodele Crescent in Oke Afa Isolo Lagos.

When he was brought before Ejigbo Magistrates court, he pleaded not guilty.

The prosecutor, G. Simon informed the court that the defendant had a similar matter in the same court, was granted bail and he was facing trial.
On that note, the counsel to Ibrahim, Barrister Samuel Okoli urged the court to consider leaving the defendant on the former bail on the sister case before the court.
The Presiding Magistrate, Mr. L.K.J. Layeni granted him bail under the former bail which he had perfected on the sister case.
The matter was adjourned till 2 July, 2018.
